Crafter

Oh my, I just started imagining a variation of an old series of books where the MCs are RPG fans who get transported into their DMs homeworld so they can find a way to free him so HE can return. Turns out he's a super-powerful mage over there and he was "imprisoned" on non-magical Earth to get rid of him. Of course our MCs decide that the guy is a jerk and ultimately refuse to help him, but they end up stuck in the fantasy world and decide to try to make it a better place by opposing such groups as the local slaver's guild who is a dominant corporate entity that has substantial "influence" over many governments.

So instead what we have is a summoner-type mage; perhaps with a transmutation partner; who summons RPrs from Earth, then transforms them into their characters (perhaps for a small fee they alter them to the taste of the customer) and they sell them to adventurer parties who need somebody to fill a slot. So they sort of run a Rent to Own Adventuring Companions shop.
